See the Universities organised themselves some tournaments last weekend to find teams to play Australian best univeristy with winners then getting to go the University World Cup in China.

In the boys, Auckland prevailing over AUT and Canterbury in a 3 team round robin at the ground University of Auckland sponsor, Eden Park, so pretty cool for those players.

Whilst the girls Victoria prevailing over Canterbury and Auckland in a 3 team round robin where they slummed it in comparison on the Christchurch football center turf and no 3 point control.

Hopefully next year the girls get a turn on Eden Park, and both tournaments can get more Universities involved and run over 2 days.  4,5,6,7,8 teams you can get a decent tournament, 3 teams is just awkward.

In the mens, Auckland Uni beat University of Wollongong so are off to China next year
In the womens, Victoria (Wellington) lost to UNSW, pity the team was not padded out with any Nix players studying in Wellington

If the Nix Academy Players aren’t allowed to play for school teams - they certainly wouldn’t be allowed to play for Uni teams
