At part of the Christchurch City Council plan they have brought forward to this financial year (begins 1 July 2009), from their five year plan, the funding of an artificial pitch at English Park. This was formally announced  at the Phoenix Dinner on Friday evening.
 
Mainland Football also have to provide funding but this should not be an issue was have $$$ in reserve.

Sounds like one council has some foresight.
