What a great weekend of football installed for us.
Start at Memorial to watch the semi finals of Ivan England - Some of the best youngsters in wellington playing.
Then a quick trip to Hutt Park to watch the central leauge promotion relegation match.
Then fly back to Memorial to watch the best team in Wellington take on the best team in Auckland.
Very thirsty work going from one ground to another, so i've done some home work and can inform you the bar will be open at Petone.
And if you haven't had enough you can always go and support the Nix on Sunday.
What more could you ask for?

How 'bout a performance of an acceptable quality and standard from Wellington Phoenix which satisfies the masses for starters!

I'd say a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Sydney FC fulfils that request!
Still plenty of work to be done, but this is more like the laying of solid foundations rather than a mere line in the sand.
I must say it's a very pleasant change to write a report on an A-League match in which both teams were competitive - there haven't been too many such occasions since the competition's inception, which has made the task of compiling said reports something of a chore.
and thanks to Ricki and the squad - it'll be a pleasure writing what you want to see written about yourselves tonight!
Cheers,
JR
