OLIMPIC FACED A BATTLING BUT BUGGERED PORIRUA CITY WITH GAZZA SCORING A GREAT HEADED GOALFOR CITY AFTER STARTING THE MOVEMENT FROM CENTRE BACK AND CONTINUING HIS RUN INTO THE PENALTY BOX. OlYMPIC LUCKY TO BE IN THE FINAL AFTER BEING KNOCKED OUT EAIRLIER IN THE COMPETITION HAD THE BETTER OF THE SECOND HALF WITHOUT PRODUCING ANY REAL SHOTS ON GOAL. THERE WERE SOME GREAT PHOTOS TAKEN OF THE FINAL THAT WERE SHOWN AFTER THE GAME . ANY CHANCE OF POSTING A FEW ON THIS THREAD. CONGRATS OLYMPIC WE WERE HAPPY NOT TO BE SMASHED! ITS GREAT THAT THE PHOENIX CAN UNITE ALL US FOOTBALL FOLK FROM DIFFERENT CLUBS AND ETHNIC GROUPS. YAHOOOO GO THE NIX.

yeah thx madhouse,

a good clean final - u guys had us in the 1st half with the wind but we kept pegging a goal back,
then we couldn't get the "Go Ahead Goal" in the 2nd half - then in to the luck of the penalty
shootouts..

Yes we could of been out earlier but with 9 players then 2 in the sin-bin, might of been a good plan in hindsight to have more in the bin for a rest !!!

Some of us made it back for the Nix -- others just crawled back  --

thanks Wanganui - hopefully back again next year  !!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's hard playing those games one after the other without a full team! Thanks to Eddie the Eagle, Wayne, and Colin who helped us out. Glad most games were played in a great spirit too. A bit of arbitrary refereeing perhaps at times, but that's ok. Big trophy. Will need a lot of Silvo to keep it clean.

Sorry Madhouse, but we'll come back with it next year to defend it like Spartans!  Good luck. You'll need a team of 100,000 players to take it off us!
