The Wellington Sunday Football league arrived at it's dramatic conclusion today with both divisions completing their final rounds. Division One almost finished last week but halfway through the crucial Tuskan v Shamrocks game half the lights at Boyd Wilson didn't make it and the game was abandoned due to the poor light. This game was replayed today with Tuskan needing a 6 goal advantage to beat the new league leaders, Marauders, and take the title on goal difference.

The score was Tuskan's 2-0 at the conclusion of the abandoned game and Shamrock's were confident they could spoil Tuskan's day today with some lively banter during the week.

So at 12pm today the game kicked off again only for Raiders to fall short winning the game 5-2 and allowing Marauders the League title.

Div.2 had a full round of games to finish off and the runners up/promo spot was still attainable by 3 teams should results go the right way. WM United needed a win over the already Champs, Lazy 11, to secure that spot. Should WM slip up Sandbar Sharks and Sprig n Fern would be waiting to take their place.
Sandbar kicked things off with a 9-2 win over Wallaceville and temporarily moved into 2nd spot. Sprigs and Trentham didn't send their result in so I can only imagine a lot of injury time and they're still playing or they're not bovvered.

It didn't matter anyway as WM pulled out their top 11 today and beat Lazy 11 3-0.

All that's left to play now are the Cup Final (Cambodia vs Tuskan Raiders) and Plate finals (WM United vs Sandbar Sharks) which are coming up this Sunday 11th at a venue TBA and the weekend following the Promo games between Lazy 11 v Shamrocks and Porirua and WM United.
