As the current President of Whanganui Athletic FC, I would personally like to apologise to the Wainuiomata team and supporters for the lack of common decency shown by our travelling supporters. It was extremely disappointing and embarrassing as President that myself and my wife were the only visitors to attend your Clubrooms for the after match function to not only support your efforts to provide food and drink, but also support our team who were all understandably disappointed by the result. It was a pleasure to have the Wainui supporters in Whanganui the previous week and despite the result on that day and the crowd banter, you a ll showed agreat deal of support to your team and our new Clubrooms which was greatly appreciated by us all. In terms of achieving higher status on the field we still have a way to go, however in terms of our Club culture and general lack of respect to the wider footballing community, we have unfortunately, a long, long way to go. My apologies once again to all of your members who went the extra mile for our benefit. Bruce McGhie President WAFC
