Auckland FF 3 - Capital 1
It was a hard fought match, but Auckland was clearly the better team on the day. Capital fought hard but the visitors played good, solid football. Attendance was fair, almost as big as a TW match, with quite a few Aucklanders making the trip. Me and Critical Lemon chanted our arses off while Lysergic Bliss pretended he wasn't with us
Got some rivalry
with the Auckland supporters too who had the best comeback I've
EVER seen.
"You're just a bunch of JAFA's!"
"I agree - Just Another Fantastic Football Association!"
Capital Football General Manager Keith Palmer (top bloke) ended up buying us drinks to thank us for the support - even though we felt like dicks and the crowd didn't join in, they all laughed with us and had a good time, applauding us at some points. And hey, if I can make football more fun for people, and if that encourages people to come along more often, it's a job well done eh?
Saw a few Retro Ricki's, so good work to anyone else who went along!
Oh, and no appearance by David Beckham

Yea sorry haha, I did join in with one chant (we love Capital?) but
after that, I felt guilty to my own home team (Hawkes Bay /
Central) and couldn't really join in after that ... but was great
to be with two great supporters of Wellington football (Robb and
the Lemon guy)

Fair enough Lysergic - could be worse, the women's league
preliminary final between Capital and Waikato/BOP was held as a
curtain raiser before our match against HBU. All the HBU players
came and sat with me and started cheering for WBOP! Haha
