This is nothing about core values. Our off field organisation is poor and Rudan has helped with that. If we lose Rudan we need both a new coach and some off field leadership. That's manageable, but we need to sort both things

100% this

Nix management got lucky getting Rudan. ..............

Nix management appoint a coach and then expect them to take on the whole recruitment, publicity, media roles etc . Rudan is now Mr Phoenix. He is the face of the Phoenix....he is the go to guy that drives the recruitment, coaching, media, publicity...everything. Thats a lot of weight on one persons shoulders. Especially when the coach's primary job is sporting. Thats why if he leaves it will leave a huge, huge hole. When we had a proper footballing CEO like Pignata, he took on lots of the off field stuff.

This issue has come up quite often on the forum. There have been calls for a director of football appointment. There is probably not enough fat in the Nix budget for this extra position but IMO there would be plenty of competent football managers who could do the dual CEO/football managers role.

A-LEAGUE FOOTBALL DEPARTMENT

Head Coach | Mark Rudan

Assistant Coach | Chris Greenacre

Goalkeeper Coach | Paul Gothard

Head of Medical | Adam Crump

Head of Strength and Conditioning | Aidan Wivall

Football Operations Manager | Shaun Gill

Football Operations & Facilities Coordinator | Aidan Wong

Video Analyst | Nick Haworth

ADMINISTRATION

General Manager | David Dome

Can only see Mark Rudan Listed once

Its not the title that is important, it is the actual role. Someone will be playing the role of 'football manager' in that list, its unlikely all of the things necessary to run a football club are just not done because they don't have someone with the title CEO Football or similar. This may something else that will receive more attention by the owners when their A Lague existence is assured.

From memory the prospects are looked at by a committee(group) including a lot from the top group plus outside football contractors for want of a better description.
