China is raiding the A-League before the finals, maybe we can sell them Nicky Ward for millions as well?

CENTRAL COAST Mariners might be in troubled financial waters but they are about to receive an unexpected bounty in the form of a massive $1 million-plus transfer fee from the sale of Rostyn Griffiths.

The 23-year-old has agreed to terms with a Chinese Super League club - understood to be Guangzhou Evergrande - in a deal to be lucrative for both the club and player.

Another unexpected transfer for CCM, not sure if they will be able to replace him easily.

Will be interesting if Brent follows him eventually..

The player exodus from Gold Coast United is gathering pace with rookie wingback Daniel Bowles sealing a two-year deal with Adelaide United, as the doomed A-League club heads into what appears its final game against Brisbane Roar on Sunday.

SYDNEY FC may not yet have a new coach, but they've already moved into the market for new players, with the Sky Blues believed to be closing in on a deal to bring former Ivory Coast international Franck Manga Guela to the A-League next season.

Guela, 25, has endured a nomadic career since turning professional as a teenager with Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa. Spells in Greece and Croatia followed, before he joined German lower-league side Arminia Bielefeld three years ago, where he was a teammate of Brisbane Roar striker Besart Berisha and Adelaide United marquee star Dario Vidosic.

How can they afford him, I thought they were strapped for cash? If not, it makes the decision to sell their best player half way through the season pretty stoopid doesn't it.

Possibly, but they have signed Redmayne as a replacement.

If an overseas club buys Ryan, CCM might be interested.

That would be the most monumental post-final dummy spit of all time. Tony Sage may be a bit of a loose cannon but I can't believe he would do this.

Yep, if true, i'm picking a trilogy of egotistical mining billionaires that are used to getting things completely their own way spitting the dummy.

Not CCM

It has to be said, however, some of that article sounds awfully familiar...

[quote=foxsports]Asked about the situation regarding the sale of the club, Turnbull denied he was getting nervous.

"No, I am not nervous," he said.

"They are contracted to invest.

"But they are still waiting for the processing of the funds from overseas."

Turnbull said there was some frustration that the money had not been forthcoming.

"It is taking longer than we anticipated and longer than we had hoped," he said.

Asked at what point does he tell the investors he needs an answer and when does he start worrying, Turnbull replied: "I am in daily contact with them. The minute they don't take my calls, the minute they say they are not committed, I guess . . . but that's not the case."

So 8 months after having a bankrupt owner and widely being predicted for the wooden spoon we have emerged as one of the most stable clubs in terms of ownership/staff/results.

Brisbane - change of manager
CCM - Still waiting for the funds to arrive
Perth - Falling over rumours
Heart - No manager
Sydney - ibid
Newcastle - trainwreck
Victory - Change of manager, need to replace 1/2 their roster
Adelaide - rubbish season results wise, is Kos still their manager?
GCU - Goooooone

Amazing what 12 months can do!
