I half-expected a close game but for Perth to win it comfortably within 90 minutes.

Great entertainment and good value for money. So close for Adelaide.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Unbelievable game which left Marco Kurz furious. Just heard ref apparently didn't toss the coin to see which end the penalty shootout would be held as in IFAB Law 10. FFA according to sources wanted it to happen at northern end in front of the Glory shed. #PERvADL

Other considerations?

Unless there are other considerations (e.g. ground conditions, safety etc.), the referee tosses a coin to decide the goal at which the kicks will be taken

My guess the other consideration was Fox Sports.

I like (nearly) everything about Kurz. He looked like he wanted to belt the camera person who tried to spy in on his team talk before extra time (perhaps it was pens... can't quite remember). Fox has jumped the shark with some of the features of their coverage. Walk off interviews, on the field of play between full-time and extra-time. This shark doesn't add value and is just another thing for teams to deal with (i.e. it is affecting the game).

If the final is Saturday night it will up against the federal election coverage.

Seeing the current level of political debate in Australia, the GF may get more viewers than expected!

Fox put up a graphic saying the GF was on the Sunday last week however there are ACL games scheduled for Tues (Sydney) & Wed (Victory) next week. Both teams are knocked out but will someone kick up a stink over the short turnaround if they play it on the Sunday night?

Dream timing really for Glory & FFA re Perth hosting their first A League GF.

Very impressive and shiny 60,000 seater stadium only 16 months old. Will be a large night out in the West.

Now means all the states have hosted at least one big dance.

Sadly they are not bringing the sides in and using the rectangular configuration.

Yep. The  summer daylight saving is over now, so Perth is no longer so "yesterday".

Thomas shocker, Sydney take the lead.

Madness trying to catch that ball.

Bloody power keeps going off here (BOP) so i can only catch glimpses of the game. Was the goal from a corner?

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Permalink Permalink

Yep, swung in at pace, Thomas tries to catch it but completely fluffs it right on the goal line, the ball spills and is bumbled over the line.

Now Brosque adds a second. MV have been quite poor so far.

Hee hee, it's 3. OG from Broxham.

Shame, couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

Even find myself thinking- cracking strike by Brosque

Well that was an enjoyable 45 minutes. Not sure I'll last the full 90 but I hope I wake up to see that Sydney have finished the job and wiped that smirk off of Muscat's butt ugly face.

Last goal should have been called offside.

Grant played at the ball in front of the goal keeper. Krishna got pulled up by VAR for doing that earlier in the season and we had a goal disallowed.

Sydney good for there lead though.

Permalink Permalink

Whilst I agree it should have been offside I'm also very happy the VAR did nothing there

Desperation time for MV. I'm not joking at all when I say that Hamish Watson was a better striker than Kenny Athiu.

It goes from bad to worse for Victory at 4:0 down.

Right. 4-0 and it's good night from me. I'll read about the red cards and Muscat's winging in the morning.

Perth should be concerned.

They've barely managed to beat Adelaide.  Sydney is ending the night at 6:1 against Victory.
