Maybe if Arnold shouts at his players more they will play better?

"Oh f**k off!"

"Apologies for the microphones around Forsyth Barr picking up some colourful language!"

"Phoenix till they lose"

Oh noes...How can we expect to win the A-League if we can't beat a mid table EPL Team on our first pre-season outing at a far flung venue on a miserable Tues night?

Heads hung in shame..

Anyone got a crowd figure or wild guestimate from someone who attended?

Edit: Never mind its in the the link in the post above mine: "before a crowd of around 10,000"

Sydney were always coming into the game under prepared, so it was never gonna be pretty. Hopefully the Nix can put up a better effort, as we have been preparing with these games on mind.

Funny. The marketing department never told us that. They seemed to think it was worthy of a large entrance fee and worthy of PPV television

I was not there but if there were 10,000 there I would  be very surprised. Stadium holds around 25000 in present configuration and there was no way better than 1 in three seats were filled.  I would guess 6 to 7k

Well they wouldn't have known. I thought Sydney signed guarantees over a Marquee player?

To be fair, how many people were paying to watch the game in order to see Sydney play?

Decent block of smashed scarfies wearing black and white in GA outsang the Newcastle Supporters Area.

Wish they got behind the Phoenix and All Whites like that last year.

You know we belong together...

“I think our structure was good over the 90 minutes, we held the ball well. But we were rusty, which cost us three goals. We wouldn’t be playing games so early in pre-season if we hadn’t been offered this tournament, and we haven’t worked too much on our attacking third as yet. There have been a lot of changes on and off the field in my first month, but I’m very happy with where we’re at” said Arnold.”

Wasn't their attacking third that needed work...

With all the anti comments about Sydney, I would have thought that before taking the p--s we should wait until we play them. If anyone on here thinks that they will be a gimme, they are dreaming.

Sydney were massively underdone. As Arnold said, they wouldn't be playing games right now if they weren't invited to participate. Come the A-League season, when they are fully prepped they will be a much harder challenge.

I don't think anyone's taking the piss because of that, they're taking the piss because they're a cocky bunch of pricks who still think they're the best club around. Personally, I love seeing big spending Sydney lose
