McFlynn should've buried that last chance - right in front 6 yards out and he tries to place it in the corner, cleared off the line.
Cracking game.

Terrific game - really was. Carle was a step above but Mate wasn't far behind. Took a while to get going but I thought some of the football played was brilliant considering the cow paddock they were playing on.
Melbourne will be the happier of the 2 teams, I think - Sydney at full strength while Melbourne had no strikers.
Sydney's one obvious weakness is their slow CB's - think that Keller is one of the most overrated defenders in the league (and Muscat isn't far behind these days - bit of a horror show from him)

Think the crowd was a little worrying for Sydney too - if they can't get more than 12k when they're champions +playing their opening game against Melbourne then when will they? Heart got similar on a rainy Thursday night against CCM. Will be interesting to see if Sydney Rovers can pull a crowd.

I am still trying to work out if you are a Sydney or Melbourne supporter.
I wouldn't say Keller is overrated. He is key to Sydney's defense. He just had a shocker tonight.
I agree with Sydneys crowd though. 4.2Million and 12k show up.
I get the feeling that Rovers will get bigger crowds.Stefan2010-08-08 00:12:03

I'm a Wellington supporter that moved to Melbourne.
Not that hard
I've just never been impressed by Keller and thought that Colosimo made him look good last year.

Ive always thought Colosimo is overrated. He proved that on Friday I think.
Lets see how well Keller does this year with Foxe.

More like how he goes with Ryall after Foxe's inevitable injury. Only the first game so can't make sweeping statements I spose - could have an amazing next 29.

For such a billing, on a Saturday night and all...that Stadium looked rather empty during the highlight reels.
Crazy game though

Only saw highlights at a mates this morn with no volume, who was the old bloke in goal for Melb?
Three for me, and two for them.

That's not good about the crowd numbers. Hopefully it won't impact their 2022 world cup hosting bid.
