Now I've seen the actual proposed map, it's just ridiculous. It would require buying/bowling a whole bunch of new terraced housing along The Strand - *and* require moving Quay Street 10 metres northward along what is now port land! Never happening.

In this article: https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/350175911/look-radical-plans-aucklands-proposed-new-stadium-and-precinct. It's not exactly to scale (I tried to overlay it on a real map and it didn't quite fit) but it's right over that little triangle the rails make outside the Britomart tunnel
