There's an entrance fee, food trucks, kids' events etc. for Super Smash games. I guess they don't think it's worth it for the 3-day or 50-over matches.
But you guys are perhaps better at reading than me; I don't see anything in here about the Wellington govt subsidizing Eden Park, financially? They're going to subsidise Auckland Cricket in moving off the No. 2 ground, not the same entity. The only thing I can see is Auckland Council writing off a loan if Eden Park plays ball with the urban development agenda.
