I'm a huge fan of Ross's but I hope the announcement is more than his retirement.
Calling it a big announcement has hyped up expectations - hopefully a "wow" marquee striker.
Roll on 2.00pm tomorrow.

Hmmm... I don't know, it's what people are suspecting isn't it?
I know he's an experienced player... But would he be a good assistant coach in peoples opinions?
I think it would be great to keep him on with the Phoenix in one way or another...
Good for morale.
I really hope he stays around the team in some form. He was a terrific ambassador for the Nix, even though he probably didn't play as much (and maybe as good) as he/we hoped he would.

If the big announcement is Ross's retirement I think there will be a few disappointed people - securing Durante, McKain and others has raised the bar of what qualifies as a big announcement.
Might be a bit of a lesson for the lads in managing expectations.

If it is Aloisi leaving then for it to be this big an announcement I would expect him to be moving into some other role within the Phoenix encampment.
While Felipe leaving did have shock factor, this is the retirement of a captain and all around good guy - deserves more of a shindig.

I'd love to hear them confirm Porter and/or a right back. However I'm pretty sure it'll just be to announce Ross' retirement and the appointment of Durante as captain.
Now that Old is gone signing Sigmund should be a priority (especially as Ross' departure should leave us with some nice $ to work with).
