2015/16 Transfer Speculation
You mean relying on NZF to complete one of their core tasks?

maybe Nix need to buy a calendar.
I don't think we would have sat on our arses during the window if they have relo in HAL
I don't think we'd have sat on our arses if we had a licence beyond May.
I don't think we'd have sat on our arses if we had a licence beyond May.
but we can sign a four year licence whenever we want...
When will NZF be held accountable? Sack the lot of them.
The problem is that after you do that, the new lot invariably turns out to be even more incompetent.
It's the kind of thing that almost makes you wanna become a rugby fan.
sack Fred - oh wait that's been done already... things don't seem to have got any better.
Fred was always a scpegoat for the endemic incompetence in the organisation.
So we have Logan Rogerson on the books but we are starting Stevens and signed Watson. What?
From everything i've heard, Rogerson isn't ready yet.
If this is the case, why sign him to pro papers then? Why not offer that to Joel Stevens, whom seems to have the goods, and leave Rogerson in the Weenix off contract (ala Blake and Dimairo)?
I just find it odd that the Phoenix sign a player that is not up to it and the player that it, is playing more and they probably shoulda signed.

Why did the Phoenix submit the paperwork on a Saturday? Surely they knew for a week that Alex was coming. Does he have to be in the country before he is cleared? Also the fact that its a loan and not a transfer isn't taken into account?
WelNix are in Wellington - I guess they did not click that Auckland (where NZF is) is closed down on Monday 1st February.
But they should have checked with NZF anyway - because you owe that much to a player wanting to come over to the bottom of the world to play for you. And this is where our corporate culture fails - we are just not sharp enough and not good enough.
Truly, "The Team That Could Not Shoot Straight".
FFS
So, we all know NZF is hopeless. You presume the Nix know they are hopeless. When dealing with the hopeless what do you do?
Were there not phone calls from Nix to NZF the week before the transfer paper work was sent through, to make sure NZF knew it was coming and would be urgent, and to organise who their contact point at NZF was to check that all was going smoothly?
Were there no phone calls and requests for confirmation from NZF on the Tuesday that the papers had been received and processed?
Why were we not escalating this all the way to the NZF CEO and Board if we could get no response?
This all seems un-fudging-believable, and not just from NZF imo. Maybe not from NZF at all.
Everydays a holiday for those who are lucky enough to be employed by NZ football
I don't think anyone ever thought Fred was the only issue with NZF, but there was a general consensus that he had failed in his role, which was meant to be High Performance Director IIRC. So I don't get why people are implying he was hard done by because the shambles has continued. Also, surely lodging player transfers with FIFA would be an administration/support officer role, not something the High Performance Director was doing. Its a bit different to establishing player eligibility - just fill in a form and hit send.
So basically, why is this about Fred all of a sudden? Or do we think he took the fax machine manual with him when he left?

It is not about Fred. It is about what I call a "Fred Syndrome", which is that NZF seems to be about as competent as EQC.
Football seems to be peripheral issue of interest to NZF, much like earthquakes are of passing interest to EQC.

There's a striker called Jiang Chen without a club according to wikki.

He's a pro. What's your point? Wee Nix is not an actual thing

Fixed

it was just a tongue in cheek joke mate - so don't worry.
I know just as much as everyone else in football that NZF were a shambles BF (before fred) and will continue to be one AF.
After tonight - how has Harris from Team Wellington not been given a shot with the Phoenix? Any ideas? I just don't understand it - but don't much when it comes to the Phoenix these days...
And how much do our clubs pay the NZF every bleeding year to do their job.? Are none of them actual Phoenix fans and might be looking out for the paperwork to help get him on the pitch?
I am amazed that tyhe guy dealing with the paper work so to speak just happened to be in an area where there was no internet coverage. I didn't think Jafas could exist without at least one avenue of access to the Net. If only to keep up with the Kardashians, Sally Ridge or Max Key.

As mentioned a few pages back, he only trains once a week at TeeDubs because he has dodgy knees
The comments in stuff on this saga are gold, NZF getting a good kicking from Nix fans. Lovin it.
Just got another kick from me too!
I fail to see how some seem to be turning a blind eye to the part the Phoenix have played in this shambles seems they dropped the ball big time despite what is claimed by some. Given its mostly no comment from the both of them seems both might have to admit they made mistakes.
The lads goal scoring record speaks for itself. He appears to be settled in Wellington. Its not like they are offering up a 3 year contact. Its a 10 game emergency deal. Seems like a decent option to me - but they go for somebody they have already had then released - essentially deciding that he not good enough? Phoenix are a shambles.

You're obviously his friend/relative given all four of your posts are about him. Don't worry, you're not the first person to do that here.
If they signed Harris, they wouldn't then be able to sign Jones if the transfer eventually goes through. We'd be over the foreign quota number.

Its all assumption any way isnt it as they are all keeping pretty quiet.
My Greek mate Con Spirocy-Theory reckons that the FFA attempted to pay off NZF off to look incompetent and accept blame for the transfer documents not being processed on time.
NZF said keep your money...

yeah I get that you want some accountability from the nix - you have pushed this barrow three or four times. Bottom line is we should still expect NZF to do this mundane task. If your an international business dealing across multiple countries then you shouldn't even be closed for NZ public holidays, do FIFA give a shark about Auckland Anniversary? To also remain closed with a transfer window closure looming is just idiotic, not to mention someone letting the person looking after the transfers be out of the office over this period - it's horrible management.
Should the nix have followed up - probably (they may have tried?) but that doesn't take anything away from how piss poor the grassroot football funded NZF are.
The press release said that they had started the process of the transfer but it was never completed, it could very well be that NZF filled in some of the information but the person who needed to sign off on it couldn't be reached. In this made up scenario the Phoenix may have called, multiple times, and NZF may have told them that they were processing it and it would be done.
We have no idea.
The truth is that NZF knew that the transfer window was closing and that their only professional club was on the look out for players, hopefully the nix gave them a heads up that they were about to sign someone, but even so it was a critical time and one that happens only twice a year so they should have been on the alert.
The nix should have followed up, and for all we know they did. Heck, with hindsight, they probably should have flown up to Auckland and sat behind the person who was entering the data into FIFA's system and not left NZF's office until it was done. But the fact is that the Phoenix has transferred dozens of players in the past and haven't had a issue like this before with NZF, so why would they start to worry?

If the person you need to be following up with is uncontactable, what do you do?

you ring the fudging CEO
then the Chairman
but the truth is we have no idea what happened and who did what
the only thing we know for a fact is that this is total incompetence, wherever it occurred
If you have done hundreds of these over 9 years you probably expect the people responsible for the single click to have performing that action under control.
