Could be a good idea if Ernie Merrick had a look at some of the Auckland City players and young players from the ASB prem. A good signing could have been Brock messenger but sadly he went to a collage team in the us. He is an attacking and defensive rb, also he got goal off the year in the asb prem.http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11598224

This means that Ernie should pay more attention to the young talents in the asb prem, either get them in the reserves or the main team.

Don't the Nix have a whole team of young talents in the asb prem?

yes but there were some really good young players they missed out on like messenger to a us collage team and recently angus kilkoly to a pro llithuania team.

I have my doubts that the team is pro.

Its true this guy posted this on his page on the kiwi oversea players ''He is there on a pro contract with training being full time. It is a televised league. I think most people would see this as a stepping stone, a chance to play football full time and get exposure to wider Europe. In New Zealand central league he was training twice a week so it's a step up at least in intensity''. http://www.yellowfever.co.nz/categories/kiwi-players-overseas/topics/angus-kilkolly-fk-panevezys-lithuania

I still don't know, I've been to football games in that part of the world before, and the teams are only getting ASB level attendance - and that's in the first division! I see no way that the second tier can be professional, let alone the first tier.

To put things in perspective, he's playing in the second tier of the third most popular sport of one of the poorest and smallest countries in the european union. Killkolly might be pro, but I doubt the whole team is. Unless someone like Vladimir Antonov has a sentimental attachment to the club and wants to throw a few million around while he's in jail.
