Living in Christchurch I am too far from the action to tell for sure, but the whole thing with the "Port vibe" seems a litlle, well, manufactured. Or it could be an expression of a genuine something underneath - happy to hear others' views.
Time will sort it out. Corica will not be around forever, and A-FC will not be winning the comp every year.  Once the gloss wears off and the money gets tight, supporters' base may also shrink to include just the truly faithful, who by then may be more similar to us than to something fake and manufactured and vacuous.

You remember when the Yellow Fever had that ‘Spice Girls’ vibe in the first season or two with Hard News, Feverish, Jonno and co. Frankie Mac. Always in the press. Coordinated dance moves. Years of K-Pop training.
