This goes beyond a joke the board at NZ Football and Martin have to go for this but I do think the Phoenix should of kept an eye on this so close to the deadline what was Dome doing knowing a holiday fell in this period.
Didn't mean to this your post. I wish I could un this.
Pretty clear now that nothing the Phoenix could have done would have rectified the situation, those laying blame at the feet of the nix are deluded.
We don't know if the Phoenix were pushing NZF or not, NZF wouldn't comment on that but NZF tried and couldn't process the transfer. They also said "What I can say is that we've been in constant dialogue with the Phoenix through this entire process and will continue to be in dialogue wth them to put some protections in place to ensure it doesn't happen again in the future." entire process probably means from start to finish including the transfer request.
But if NZF couldn't get hold of the staff member who knew how to use the system I don't know how you can expect the Phoenix to be able to.
They probably sent the information through the day that it was sorted with Birmingham, regardless of a holiday. They couldn't do it any earlier because they were likely still negotiating. They were probably on the phone, but if they were not NZF still had the transfer, knew the deadline, but foolishly let the seemingly only two people in the organisation who knew how to use the system leave three days before the transfer window closed and take a long weekend respectively.
