Looking forward to seeing him in yellow & black! Here's some videos of him in action. Looks quick and clinical in front of goal, and surprisingly strong for his stature:

He's not a doctor, but this could be the basis of a chant.

Hold on, we've had an Alex SMITH and now an Alex JONES... I suppose RODRIGUEZ is the Spanish equivalent.

Cannot believe we have singed a far-right, shock-jock , conspiracy theorist lunatic. Surprised he's 21, looks more like 50 to me.

No we've signed Alid Jones.

We're walking in the air
We're floating in the moonlit sky
The people far below are sleeping as we fly

We're walking in the air
We're walking in the air

A good chant for the YF can get it's teeth into.

I second this.  I'd change the doctor to Alex then someone smarter than me change the wake up now to something better.

Alex Jones and me tell each other fairy tales

Stare at the beautiful Fever

"He's looking at you. Ah, no, News is looking at me."

Smiling in the bright seats

Coming through in obscene yellow

When everybody loves you, you can never be loaned for free

I will drink lots of craft beer

Paint myself in yellow and black

All of the beautiful passes are very very meaningful
But goals are what we need
I felt so shark yesterday

Help me believe in anything
I want to be someone who believes

I like tautologies because I like them.

Does anyone actually read the chants board?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

So Ernie said on an interview on the news hub page that they have been tracking Alex Jones for 9 months but had all the visa spots full, and that at the end of the season if he plays well who knows what will happen. He stressed that Alex is not an injury replacement for Krishna or a replacement for Sarpong but just that we took advantage of the situation to have a look at him.

So sounds like we are interested in him for longer than a loan period.

Guess the advantage with the loan is we get to test him out and his previous club doesn't lose him and can recall him or negosiated a better deal if we want to end up keeping him.

He sounds quiet positive mentally and willing to give his all in training. Big difference to sourpong, who never looked like he wanted to be here at all. I believe Ernie can improve most players at this level so long as they're willing, so regardless of his current ability I think he will do well for us.

I wish the lad all the luck in the world. God knows we need it. But do I think a 21 year old playing in Birmingham reserves  is going to be the goal scoring messiah we need ? No chance,  but I hope he proves me ohhhh so very wrong.

Can see him coming here and being a bit like Carey Gamerio was. Lots of industry and effort but little reward.

I'd have Gameiro back in a heartbeat (if fit).  Would be quite happy if Jones turns out like him.

I'll gladly take industry and effort over sarpong any day.  I wouldn't underestimate the effect of someone with those qualities on the confidence of others in the front 3rd either.

If Gameiro is fit then he's only a couple of games away from being injured unfortunately.

Who would've thought that his stint with us would probably turn out to be the longest he has had for 2-3 years. Poor bugger.

Looking around online, Jones has been one of the top strikers in both West Brom's and Birmingham City's reserve sides.

I think the lad looks promising. Has scored regularly at reserve and u-18 level.

He's played against a lot of Premier League reserve and u-18 sides over the last five years or so.

Details of his reserve matches for West Brom (results and match reports) Scroll down below current season's results:

Ernie was interviewed on the Phoenix youtube channel, he reiterated that we have him over here to look at him, that we have been tracking him for 9 months, that there is no pressure on him, and that he wasn't hired to replace Krishna or Sarpong. He insinuated that if we like him then we will sign him next year despite the fact that he is in his first year of a two year deal. So there must be something in the loan agreement about us buying him.

Everyone here should look at these Phoenix youtube videos, as they are all good and some of them only get one or two views. We want sponsors to know that people are interested in the nix and having a youtube channel that gets fewer views that a cat being frightened by a cucumber or a fat kid making a fool out of himself on the dance floor is pretty bad.

I don't think you can say he's good till we see how he goes against experienced A League defenders, prob a bit tougher than U21 defenders

Forgot him, maybe because he is not striking much. Powell I like, lots of energy helping midfield, this is what you want from a modern striker.

He said something like he's on loan till the end if the year and then who knows. And also we've been tracking him for nine months.

I see this move as purely a loan - just to give the young lad some extra experience. They've only just got him from WBA last year haven't they? so unlikely to want to sell him just yet.
