Calling any engineers / architects ... is it possible to build something near Hnry Stadium? Like above the train lines / by the concourse?
Similar to the Melbourne setup?
I agree that around 12.5K capacity (maybe with the ability to bring it up to 15K with temp seating) would be perfect. And based on the vibe in other rectangle stadiums, I believe it could be used for the women as well - who over time should continue to grow!
Speaking of the women, I would love to see at least one game at Newtown Park. The atmosphere there for the Men's National League final was brilliant and it says the capacity is about 5,000 which is perfect. Could get the Wellington Zoo involved (and maybe the WCC re public transport? Dreams are free right?)
Only issue is no one has (or if they have it, wants to spend it) $100-200 million on a 'boutique' rectangular stadium just so some football/rugby fans can have a better atmosphere on match day. Not when there is a perfectly fine if larger capacity stadia right alongside. Fairytale stuff
