Have just seen a post Petone Rugby put up on Facebook moaning about the HCC wanting to pull the Grandstand down at Petone Rec instead of fixing it.
Laughable in their post they say franchise sport could use with good road and public transport access. This is the   last paragraph.
"There is also an opportunity to host provincial and franchise sport here in Petone. With the Stadium under pressure  https://www.thepost.co.nz/.../wellington-stadium-says-it... Petone's central location in the region, 2 train stations, a major bus route, adjacent to Jackson street's awesome bars and restaurants Petone is perfectly placed to be the heart of sport in the capital. What a boost it would be for local businesses. All we need is a bit of deferred maintenance and some temporary seating."
Had they not all moaned and groaned so much when it was first suggested it would probably be all built and in use by know.
