Agreed. If any stadium in Wellington needs to change, it's the cake tin, not the Basin. But this won't happen anytime soon, no matter how many forum posts there are. The Basin should always be preserved as Wellington's premier cricket venue.
Changing the Basin into a rectangle would almost be as ridiculous as the decision to replace Athletic Park with an oval.
