Durante is good aye.
I remember him being the scapegoat a few times on here for losses.

However his 4 yellow cards is nae good.
We could possibly be without another centreback.

Agreed. Durante must be visible, and he must have matter! Perhaps he should also wear sparkly eyeshadow to make him more noticeable.

Seriously, I have no idea what you mean.

Mmmm... you're still pretty vague. What exactly do you want him to do? (I get the terrible feeling you're going to say "more".)

I just haven't thought, for a time of Durante being a "builder" to a beneficial outcome or result.

He scored a goal on Saturday (well would have if Necevski didn't fall over).

He was also in Fenton's ear quite a lot, which you'd want from your captain to a rookie. I remember after one time that Fenton went himself and possibly should have looked outside him, Dura ran up to him and quietly told him to calm down.

I thought I saw Dura lift up his stripey and show Louis his new YF shirt underneath. Job done.

Dura has more effect on this team than anyone else. Don't know where this guy is coming from. Watch him during the game, you'll see what you're looking for.

Fuck this stupid game

+1

I thought he had an excellent game on saturday, solid as always, marshalls the team, gets into the opposition half, scored a goal (sort of).

Can I  bring your attention to the teams defending of free kicks.

Whats wrong with them? We didn't concede from a free on Saturday, and IIRC the last time we conceded from one was the game in the rain against Perth.

I reckon you could be right, but I also rate Zwaanswijk as right up there.

Gives little confidence.

Feel opposition are always a chance.

Organisation?

To others, do Pheonix players seem to stand and look at each other rather frequently when free kicks are "negotiated"?

I have but towards the end of last season I think his age was showing and I suspect it may become an issue as this season rolls on which is why Arnie has signed three youngsters in Sainsbury (retained) , Anderson and Griffiths for cover.

Lol way to rag on the greatest Phoenix player of all time. None has been more influential and productive than Dura. There wouldnt be a team in the competition who wouldnt want him.

Dura is a rock.

Can't remember him having a bad game.

He's not flashy and shouldn't be and not prone to moments of stupidity, again another positive.

Retired from the All Whites

Is this because he wasn't in Hudson's plans? In the article Anthony says he talked with him a lot so I doubt it was that

Sounds more like family reasons. And he probably realises he's not a first choice player anyway.

Was probably ineligible anyway

He's the only player that we know is eligible!

But yeah never really looked as sure in the AW's as he does in the Nix, but I respect him for wanting to represent NZ. He has more right to the AW jersey than Tommy Smith does.

Does anyone actually believe that Durante walked away or

1: He was told he was not getting picked or

2: He thinks that Hudson is a bit of bell end and is not interested in playing for him.

Just does not seem right to me.

Grumpy old bastard alert
