It's amazing how this stuff gets twisted the more people talk about it.

These two things were made clear in Court:

The IRD received no money on Monday.  The received information that gave them further comfort that the cheque was in the mail.  Part of that information had to do with some money moving somewhere, but we don't know where except that it wasn't to the IRD.

The IRD's lawyer stated that the IRD was prepared to not oppose the adjournment because of the information they had received that morning, and additionally because of "the situation in Canterbury."  That's all he said about it that I can recall.

There are myriad possible reasons relating to the earthquake that could have been relevant I guess, but we don't know what it was specifically that weighed in Terry's favour.

Does Century City own any property down there perhaps?

Who has taken of C-Diddy's account and is posting as him?

Exactly what I was thinking. Sensible, responsible posting is not the trademark of the real C-Diddy.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Now I'm totally confused.

First of all, I didn't know the The Situation was in Canterbury.

And even if he is, why would that affect IRDs desire to liquidate Terry?

I know, I know.....Century City has a mailbox down in Christchurch and Mr Racing Santander posted the $100 million cheque to the Christchurc address. Unfortunately the mailbox is buried in rubble and it will take 5 weeks to dig it up and retrieve the cheque!!!!!!

Bloody hell, you people keep saying that as if there were a queue of fully-funded, football-mad millionaires just aching to take over and lose $1 million a year for the privilege. I've heard rumours of such a thing but zero evidence.

And also, if one such person could be identified, owning the club is a key asset in negotiations.
Step right up Mr Ali Syed, We already know he has control of Racing Santander, so he has an interest, business or otherwise, in football. Terry has said they have discussed their shared interest in football. Its a lever or edge Terry believes he has in this process maybe.
Perhaps Ali Syed might fancy two clubs, and private jet trips in NZ airspace too.

Don't forget Terry likely has no rights to "sell" the "club" without approval.

Any change of ownership of the entity that holds the licence (Century City Football) would, I imagine, require FFA approval.

So it's not really a case of "putting the club on the market" as some have said he shoud do.  It's much more complicated than that.

Sponsorship deals, on the other hand, he can pretty much do himself.  Much easier.

WGA sponsorship? If it does eventuate, look forward to the Nix being known as "Nigerian Investments FC".

Question is, will Matt Nippert's face-nipple pop when Terry survives all this.

I can imagine Nippy going all Ricardo Montalban, "revenge is a dish best served cold", and quietly continue building a Sh*t Dossier on Terry and awaiting his next chance to Lop The Poppy. (Although that sounds like a euphemism for masturbation. Hmmm. Probably appropriate.)Doloras2011-03-11 15:38:25

Right.  You're imagining Matt Nippert masturbating.

And decided to announce this in public.

To be honest, with Junior82 and Napier Phoenix leading the chasing pack, the stock wasn't really
that strong to start with!

I think I have proved Doyle's Seventh Law of Heterosexual Dynamics - the best way to encourage male interest is to positively discourage it. Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen. If I was being all sloppy and flirting back, then you'd all recoil as from a poisonous viper.

As for Nippert masturbating, remember that I was at uni at the same time he was and we were probably at some of the same parties.

Isn't it strange how, when we've lost one of our best players and the club is on the verge of going tits up, the lols on here have been superb over the last few weeks.

A fair assumption. I wonder whether he reacted to my "personal abuse" in particular because he has a vague idea of whom he's dealing with.

Hmmm. Interesting.

No tales of the drunken Nippert saying things like "I'm so embarrassed. This has never happened before. Maybe I'll just have a smoke and try again in a few minutes...." springing to mind?

... Well, there weren't before, but the recovered false memories are starting to kick in now. Yep, Matt in his pirate hat and Union Jack undies, it's all coming back to me.
