Apart from the fact he's 100% KIWI he didn't make much an impact last night really. That "Fred replacement" Hernandez was equally as useless. But to even it out, Coveny was rubbish as well. Felipe was an injection that we needed.

I really don't get why people keep saying Hernandez was rubbish.

He was involved in almost every attack we had despite being the tightest marked man on the pitch.  Most of our attacks followed a familiar pattern of being set up by Hernandez then stuffed up by Allsopp.  Sure, he ran out of legs early in the second, but he'll be fit in a few weeks but i'm tipping him to be better than fred simply on the strength that he deals with being tightly marked extremely well, which is something that you couldn't say about fred.

He was easily the best player on the pitch in the first half and he's only going to get better.

Hernandez was quite good but looked un fit. He will be a hand full by the end of the season.

Only the blind ones

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Everyone seems to use the "he's unfit excuse". Sydney were using it for Juninho. Everyone else in the A-league is fit and ready, and its not like the other seasons are totaly out of sync. The Premiership has only just started, the MLS is about half way through and the S.American seasons are are nearing the end. So fitness is only excuse if your team has signed a HAS BEEN! Daniel, Cleberson, George and Felipe are all match fit and they're from S.America.

Rant over, lol.

Back to slating Archie I think! BTW, does anyone know when we get our weekly scores from the FoxSports Fantasy A-League??

Hernandez was injured and on the sidelines for 9 weeks before he came to us.

He ate a lot of pies in that time before we could stop him.

There's rumours going around that Victory are close to a deal with Jenny Craig as a player sponsor for Hernandez...

But seriously, t's not an excuse, because i think his form was quite good until he ran out of steam, but when he gets fit he should be able to run out a full 90 minutes playing the kind of decent football he played in the first half.

Let me clear the confusion.

Archie was born In Nz.
Lives in Australia.

But is greek. His Dad was Spiro Thompsianopoulos and his Mum was Maria Koloneithis.

He did what MJ did with his skin but the reverse, in order to disguise himself after his family were killed in a soccer match in peru. He was blamed for their death.

Now you all know...

Ahhh... Archie Thompson, New Zealand's very own Josip Simunic.... (except that Thompson is not a dirty cheating git who gets away with rugby tackling opponents in the deciding game of a World Cup group due to the incompetence of the Pommy ref, of course.)

steve: I thought he was from Luxembourg?
