We made the Capital Quiz today!

On Sunday we drunk 220 pints, 47 jugs and 25 bottles of Carlsberg for a total of 292. Bethel Woods is going to round it up to $300! Not to encourage drinking, but awesome job everyone who turned up after the game.
Not sure if this is an excellent fundraising effort or confirmation that YF is a drunken disgrace??

Excellent, Trade Me auction has closed I watched it go from $181 to $282.33 in last five minutes as two bidders fought for it. That will help take the fund to $3,356.33.

That is about $40 short of being able to do another family or for completely paying for doing the same next year isn't it?
Well have to do a budget and a think, as we are lucky and got extras like car park and lounge passes from Nix and the lounge passes where very important on Sunday with the weather. So if we were to do that ourselves we may need to budget for it. Also there could be extras as like first family we had this weekend was actually a family of five so we got extra ticket (didn't have to pay for this time) and an extra scarf.
I am planning for this to be a yearly thing now and I want to do it again next year.
probably good to have some reserves for things like that and to carry over for next year I reckon. Keep it sustainable in case donations drop off next time round.

I could give you pax on each ticket but not on a season pass. Have been given four tickets to every home game for the season for the families to hand out, that way they can keep them if they want and we don't lose the passes/have to try get them back off them

I met a 8yo boy today who was admitted to Wellington Childrens Hospital with severe life threatening asthma for the second time in a week.
Although he could barely breathe all he could talk about was football, couldn't wait for this weeks Phoenix game and his dad had promised he could stay up late and watch some of it. He was busy watching highlights of last nights aleague game just to get a fix.
Your campaign came to mind, thinking he would be a perfect recipient but he wouldn't be eligible as they live in Wellington and have no need to use Ronald McDonald house (im sure there are hundreds of other deserving cases)
Just a thought that local kids at Wellington Children's hospital some of which get flown backwards and forwards between starship and can be in hospital quite some time would really enjoy a Phoenix experiance.
Im sure this boy and his family could go to any old game being a local but if you had lounge passes for these sick kids that could really make a difference as being out in the cold for 90 minutes is often not an option for them.

So just to let you know, that yes we have another family line up for this Friday's game. Not sure at this stage if I'll be meeting them before the game or am driving to RMH to deliver the tickets, scarfs etc. But RMH has been really good with helping find a suitable family to have the tickets.
Also, this Friday will be the draw for the raffle of the VIP experience at a Phoenix game of your choice, thank you again for everyone who brought tickets. Draw will be done at the Backbencher before the game.
Congratulations to Craig who was the winner of our VIP Experience provided by Westpac Stadium. He has won four tickets, lounge passes and a $50 food and beverage voucher to use for a Nix game of his choice.
