If you can donate and/or share with your friends I'm trying to raise money, this time, to go directly to Ronald McDonald House by running my first half marathon.

We now find ourselves getting ready to pack our bags ready to take up residence at Ronald McDonald House in Wellington after Sarah having our twins prematurely at 27 weeks.

My Yellow Fever shirt will be the first thing packed!!!

Perhaps we could get your boy to a Nix training session to show them how to roll around.

So it has been quiet but with the season kicking off this weekend, Fever Dreams is back for another year. Passes, parking, scarfs etc to be dropped off today at Ronald McDonald House in Wellington. Have been discussing with the Auckland House about the two games up there and will find deserving people for the Hamilton and New Plymouth games.

Just wanted to give an update on this, firstly I got a reminder today that the weekend been 3 seasons ago we had our first Ronald McDonald House family attend a Nix game. So a cool little reminder that this is our third season.

Secondly, the person I had been in contact with at RMHW has left which is why there has been a lack of updates and photos. The passes etc have been used the last two games thanks to the lovely staff at the House but harder to get the chase up (and don't want to cause them more work either) to get updates on how it went and the photos.

Will see what happens when maybe a new replacement person comes in.

So really nice to hear from the family that attended the Hamilton game.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for the Phoenix tickets and scarves last weekend. The game was great. Sean is soccer mad and really enjoyed it. This was really special, as he often misses out on things like this, with Hannah often being so unwell. It was really nice to be able to do something together as a family

You can see our happy Sean with Dad in the attached photo.

This kind offer was very much appreciated!

All I want for christmas is for sean to make a full recovery. I say this not lightly but because I genuinely hope and wish him the very best.

From Ronald McDonald House:

Hi Yellowfever

I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year!

One family that really enjoyed New Year’s day was Matthew and his mum and step dad. Matthew has been with us since October after being diagnosed with Leukaemia. Matthew a huge soccer fan was delighted at the opportunity to go to the game and it was a great distraction away from the hospital.

Thanks to the Fever and all you do for our families!

So this makes me very happy, we might have been disappointed with the result, way the team played and the weather but we gave Matthew a nice night out away from the hospital with his family.

Again from RMH

"We had a family attend the game on the weekend who were discharged for a week but will be back on Friday so I can get you there picture then.

However the family who attended on Tuesday night had a great time. Ryan and Donna have been here since the New Year when their little one came a little earlier than expected. They even got their new addition a Phoenix onesie – starting them early!"

Please see attached the photo of the family who attended the last phoenix game. Aiden and his family have been with us since last Feb. Going to the game has been one of the first normal thing he has been able to do since his accident and his mum said he is still beaming and talking about it. Also please see attached a card they wrote in thanks.

Reading that letter makes you realise how much the small things we take for granted like going to a football game can have such a massive impact for people who have been through so much.

Great work Matt, let us know when it's time to top up the coffers and I, and I'm sure many others, will be ready to hand over some dollars.

Thanks Andy, should be good for the rest of this year and then will be looking to do some fund raising I think to continue it next season.

So Matthew (http://yellowfever.co.nz/posts/1166936) who attended the Nix game as part of Fever Dreams on New Year's Day was surprised by the Nix with Dura, Siggy and Lia visiting and gifting him a signed shirt. (I had nothing to do with this, just posting here because he was part of Fever Dreams earlier this year)

So unfortunately have just heard from RMH that the family emailed late Saturday to say they couldn't make the game in New Plymouth as something else had come up. It is only the 2nd time this has happen.

On the flip side I am seeing if we can get a family to the game against Beijing on Tuesday for an extra family for Fever Dreams.

Organised for a family from RMHW to attend the game against Beijing and turns out we gave a couple a Valentines Date out to the football.

Sam and Ngarie attended the special Beijing game on Tuesday. The couple said it was a great distraction from their day to day lives at the hospital. Sam and Ngarie have been staying with us for over a month now as their little girl arrived on the scene a little earlier than expected.

Glenn and his daughter Courtney loved having some father daughter time at the game last weekend - it was a great distraction from the long days at the hospital with little brother Tyler

Also don't forget to donate to keep Fever Dreams going as also win a chance to be part of Vinnie Testimonial

Yes they did, shame it wasn't Nix goals. Yes, stuff has been sorted and sent to Auckland for a family from their house to attend the game at QBE.

Don't forget to donate to keep Fever Dreams going.

For every $5 you donate, you'll get an entry into the draw to win a seat at the Yellow Fever table at the testimonial dinner. And for every $25 you donate, you'll be in with a chance to win a playing spot in the testimonial match, taking the field alongside Phoenix legends Paul Ifill, Andrew Durante and Daniel, as well as many others.

Dear Moeke Family,

I am so glad the team came to the party and gave you all something to cheer about and to distract you from your family situation. That you all had a great time gives a lot of us fans a lot of pleasure in reading and seeing. Just like it does for any of the recipients of the tickets etc.

Matt has done an awesome job with this and I know I am very proud of his work in trying to make a positive difference in trying circumstances. You all take care and my sincerest good luck and best wishes to you all.

Signed

Your average Yellow Fever Phoenix fan.
