I don't think we are past that point yet, we should see how the season goes, analyse, and go from there. I suspect this is what welnix will do anyway, despite how they're portraying themselves in the media, they're not complete idiots.
The only reason to appoint an assistant is if you think they are going to influence the head coach. If Herbert still makes a decision is there any point forcing someone onto him?
