Hi Doloras if you look critically at Ricki's record without rose-tinted glasses it's not as good a read as you might think.  

His record with the AWs isn't the greatest. He's been lucky in that NZ has produced some great footballers over the last 5-10 years and we would never have qualified or done so well at the WC without him falling on a sword and making up with Simon Elliott and Ryan Nelson bringing them back into the team or FIFA changing eligibility rules for Rory Fallon, Tommy Smith and Winston Reid.

Remember too that Wynton Rufer did well as Kingz manager prior to the financial/ownership issues there that saw him leave and he's hardly everyone's cup of tea either.
