He does. He has also signed to play with the Melbourne Knights, I'm assuming to get game time over the A-League off season

So there could be a pretty big clean out next season? Seems like all the players we'd want to hang on to are expiring, and then all of the players we'd want to get rid of have 2 year deals still!

Bugger meant to take him out but did get Vidosic. Waiting to see if we lose Lowry, Watson and Abbas

Does anyone think we could lose AK?? One of the league's top scorers playing for the bottom ranked team on a one year deal... Anyone have any inside information on how he's enjoying his Wellington experience?

Goal are reporting that the club are trying to get rid of Abbas, Lowrey, Watson and Rossi. Possibly might decide to terminate Watson, etc contracts early?

I don't believe he's posted any TV listings on Trademe yet.

We've got his mate here now so he might feel like staying. Also seems to be a fan of the coach.

He is a real star for us, and people recognise him on the street in Welly.

He would be just another face in the crowd if he turned for that revolving door, Melbourne City.

Hopefully after the last few years of the life of a football nomad he'll want to stay somewhere for a couple of seasons and be settled.

That is very true. I have a soft spot for both Riga and Tallinn, seen them before and after 1991.

Yeah, we seriously thought about buying an apartment in Riga after the financial crisis where they more than halved in price. I was working from home at that point and we could have spent our winters in Europe hanging out at the beach in Jurmala, etc. And also got a good return renting it to all the tourists when we weren't there.

But then the company I worked for started to struggle and I thought it might be prudent to find a corporate pleb job in town.

The change in visas to 4+1 hasn't been ratified yet. Its one of the many things up in limbo right now.

Haven't been watching too much Weenix, only highlights each week - jesus Singh is a class above the rest. Is there a possibility of any of those guys getting pro deals with us? And if so, who?

out of the guys who don't have pro contract at the moment, McGarry and Liam Wood seem the most likely options.

I hope Ollie White sticks with it and keeps improving, just so he can be called up to the NZ U23's one day.

McGarry has a pro contract, for a few more months anyway.

Along with Whyte, Willem Ebbinge and Liberato Cacace are probably the highest rated of the lot that were at last year's U-17 WC.

Cheers guys, I remember in the games that I watched Whyte and Wood really stood out for me. Cacace was great at the World Cup I thought

He's so good, they named a team after him.

He deserves as big wages as he wants, no other player gives more and tries as hard. Nothing but love for Roy, he's in the same tier as Ifill in terms of club-legend status, so lets treat him like one

It doesn't at all does it? The Roy quote along the lines of "tell the club that" would indicate that the talks had already started at that point and Roy's expectations were probably not being met. I think he is in a strong position given that he is well proven at this level and not a "cast-off". As an exercise, if you were [an A League club]  looking to sign an overseas player - would you prefer Roy over someone coming from the lower reaches of the English game or from one of the minor leagues in Europe?

Of our off contract players, Krishna is the only one that we would be in real danger of having poached from us by other A-League clubs. Arnie might consider WeeMac but tbh he has moved onto signing far better visa players now.

Potentially Kaludjerovic if he has a good finish to the season as well. You look at a club like CCM, they've got Asdrubal as their import forward and he's been pants all season. I'm sure they would leap at the chance to get a striker who adds an aerial threat to their game and is proven A-League quality

Not sure about that, only other clubs that will probably be looking for a central striker in this off season will be CCM & Roar. Okon's style at CCM doesn't really suit AK9's game & Aloisi passed up the chance to re-sign AK9 after his previous A-League stint.
