On the Money Feverish! A very disappointing turnout. Mind you it is work Xmas party season. I don't know why some employers don't book a block out and have a game as part of their function.

Reasons for lower figure:

1.Pre Xmas figures in December are always lower everywhere see Sydney for example. There are other demands on time and money

2.The events of last weekend used up both money and permissions!

3.It was the bottom two playing. (truth hurts!)

the win should help, but folks are right this time of year is busy and expensive

clearly not enough people are telling the boss/wife/family/best friend that they have a far more important engagement at the RoF and that due to financial constraints there will be no presents this year

I'm a bit concerned about numbers for jan 4 v syd a few people i know didn't rearrange their holiday plans , I reckon some kind of discount or promotion might help, or we all make a point making sure that we get anyone visiting us around the 4th. a match ticket for xmas!!

Surprised it was that many, as it looked very sparse on the tele. They have interviews with commentators Harry etc, and the seating behind them is empty.

I think it is due to the big investment last week and the lack of wins recently. Hope this win will draw them back

The interviews are on the empty side of the stadium. YF zone is the full part. Around the corner.

Turns out my work's xmas party was last night so that had to take precedence, seems I have another work party next weekend and the last home game in January I'll be up in Taupo.  Sucks but it seems that I've not got any more home games this season :(

Saw a mate on the way out after the game. He had his work shirt and suit on under his retro ricky. He'd left his office function to go to the game and was on his way back to it after the game.

I didn't go to my office function because it clashed with the Adelaide game.

I think Malky wins the award for cunning... work do at the Bencher.

Sloped off from work do to the match, and then straight back in to the work do after.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Malky's good example to us all  might mean a change from the old cliche "win-win"

to a more classic case of "win, f**king win!, win"

though I'm impressed with SiNZ just not going!!!  (a good option to put a Nickel on in life's lottery of options )

I told my boss why I couldn't go. He understood completely and wished he could do the same too. However he's the Wellington boss so couldn't not go - shame he couldn't adopt a dictatorial stance to force a change of date, but the social club arrange it all. SiNZ2007-12-08 12:37:40

I've got a work do on friday coming but it's a late afternoon start and I'll be out of there well in time for the game, if it was an evening event  i just wouldn't go - they would understand

I reckon there's few feelings on this planet worse than being in the same town as a match for your club and not being at it

These mid December games should be on Sunday afternoon......everyone in Wellington spends Friday evening at this time of year at an office party or Xmas shopping.

Jan 4 could be very quiet....Wellington is empty after boxing day

I thing limiting the people in the Yellow Fever zone has hindered the crowd numbers on the whole!

I say tackle him in the face.

Yeah it's a really bad time for a home game. I sure won't be anywhere near Wellington then.

Yeah, I'll be in Auckland and I would love to go to the Nix game if I could but the thing I'm doing is practiacally a once in a life-time or at best once in a decade thing.

What do you mean! We're arranging our trip to family in Auckland so that we'll be back for the game - isn't that what everyone will be doing?!?

Don't beat yourself over the crowd sizes. Both Auckland clubs had their lowest figures around this time as well - it is just the season when unfortunately family and festivities come first.

Knights v Newcastle - 3/12/2006 - crowd of just 2039 at North Harbour

Shame really because the Knights got a point from a 1-1 draw

I have to butter up to a very attractive Dutch lady at work to swap this Friday. As a married man, it's a task that will be tough but hey, it's for the Nix!

On the 3rd of Jan I'll be in Rotovegas for my Brother-in-laws wedding and sprint back down for the game on the 4th. Again, for the Nix!

Message for Terry Serepisos - Can you buy me a new Toyota Corolla for Christmas?  Mine's on it's last legs!! Well it is an '89 4 door hatch!!
