I've been thinking next season it would be great to fill the stadium for a game. Optimistic... maybe? Possible.. Why Not?
Given that we would need not only the football community to support it but
also the general public some serious thinking outside the square is in order
and crafty marketing to get the bums on seats.
Some possible ideas to target the general public to come along:
- Some type of Guinness world record attempt, strong global / local media
coverage.
- Match profits to charity, patrons attendance to back a cause not just club.
- Maybe donation only entry.
- Buy one entry get one free.
- Brand the event on the basis of the family day out / bouncing castles / off
field events.
- Local / NZ bands at half time or concert after match, additional draw card.
- Stalls on the concourse outside venue, like a market.. International Food, maybe?
- Fireworks display ( Funded by corporate sponsorship )
- Premium seats sold in blocks as a corporate event.
- Celebrity game pre match.
- Promote the event as “Be a Wellingtonian” wear yellow for a good cause or
similar.
Lets get talking, make something happen.
