If you listen to your average League or AFL redneck, this is apparently football's target market.
A dog with a bone :)
What does that have to do with Melbourne ?

Exaggeration much? :) Wellington could still do much better.
Brisbane is the main difference this season IMO, they had good crowds last year but have been hit hard by high ticket prices.
I rang Pompy ticket line to ask when game started, they asked when could I get there
Should get wgtn companies to offer a season pass to employees as part of a "health and wellness" package. A bit like gym membership only this exercises the lungs (maybe also cardiovascular if you include the walk to/from stadium). Junior822009-09-28 20:45:32

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!
Not a lot we can do about it I guess, but several times on Sunday you could feel the crowd strain towards the screen and ... nothing.
It certainly detracts.
I know, I know, its serious!

This just in - Melbourne and Sydney are two different places.
Sydneysiders like to watch their sport on telly, mate. I'm not having a go at them, that's just the way it is.

It's worse for GCU - they have to play half their matches at home.

Its a FIFA law to safe guard the referee. Its the same when I go to a Championship or Premiership game.
For those who used to support the Knights at North Harbour, having that big screen made the NZ refs look daft to everyone, esp themselves with some of their shocking calls that cost the Knights at least 2 or 3 genuine wins.
Yeah it was darn cold, my first Phoenix game and it was colder then when I've watched Leeds play in snowy conditions in the UK.
The crowd size though, whilst being a Knights sized crowd was better then some across the ditch. I have a feeling that Rugby and League, coupled with that wind played a big big influence.
At least it will be nice and warm when I watch the boys in the Gold Coast this weekend.

Assuming the crowds may grow by 1000 with each win we may well be getting 12-13000 now as we'd be near the top. At the moment no team in the league with 1 win, 5 draws and sitting in bottom 3rd would get more than our 6794, Melbin excepted.
Nothing to do with weather.
Win
Last Lions game was less than 6000 so I'm told. That was to do with the weather and they haven't got some piece of wood anymore
