Comparing A league midfielders to Andrea Pirlo is pointless. No one in the A League plays a style which uses a regista and Pirlo is the ultimate regista. It makes more sense to compare A League DMs to the more standard disrupt-and-distribute-short type of player - like Busquets for instance. Those players still peak later because they rely on reading the game and being in the right place at the right time.
Also, Pirlo is awesome.
