So an amazing surprised that I didn't see coming and nearly wasn't even there for. My toddler was sick today and thought I was going to have to miss the awards evening but my lovely wife let me go anyway as a little birdie told her that I should be there. I really didn't expect to win but this is something I'm really grateful for. I love the Phoenix and Yellow Fever and consider myself lucky to be able to use that to help run Fever Dreams for families at Ronald McDonald House and the food drive for City Mission. So thank you to everyone that allows me to do so.

Well done; despite our performances on the pitch, you've been going strong off it.

Unlikely. Sick child at home.  We had to let his wife in on the fact yesterday morning to push him out of the house and make sure he made it to the awards.

Yep, home at a reasonable hour for me last night. I'm very lucky I have such a wonderful wife though.

Apart from Matt, I really don't give a rats about who won what.

Yes, I'm grumpy and no, I'm not fooled by a good performance in the last game.

I still see too many of this lot wandering around the pitch and thinking it's ok to just put in the odd sprint here and there. I see full backs who don't mind if the cross comes in. I see centre backs playing one-twos which each other out of defence. I see a striker who has contributed no goals and only 2 assists all season. I see players taking throw ins and just standing there waiting to see if the guy they biffed the ball near does ok. I see players occasionally tracking. And if this is what I have seen, imagine how bad the players I haven't seen are.

Seriously, this lot are a joke. I urge those who are retained, for the sake of their own credibility, to spend the off season learning how to play the game properly and to turn up next season with a better attitude.

In the meantime, I hope they all had a nice time last night and got made to feel special. Because we're all special aren't we?

How about 80-90% of the players care just as much as you do, and after a very tough season it's nice to get together and celebrate the good parts of it?

Don't be a dick.

Is there a list of who won what?

Roy getting player of the year seems so weird when he scored the same amount of goals as Blake Powell, Connor Pain and even Avraam fudgeing Papadopoulos, a central defender in his mid 30's. Still our most dangerous player though I guess, and his 5 assists boost that claim up a bit too but still. Sums up a terrible year overall.

Annual finals disappointment enthusiast.
