Do you want a report card from Nix management every week? If you really want to know, go down a watch/listen to some trainings?
Ernie Merrick - former Phoenix manager
His form is better than Aloisi's in the same comp.
Yep. 10 seasons, 8 finals, 5 titles. Not a bad record at all. Has an A license too.
A father and son team..... Come on down Bobby and Jonathan Gould!
FUCK NO
Why not?
John Gould is completely mental as a coach - have you seen his touchline antics? The FFA would be able to fund ADP on his fine money alone. Bobby was a motivator more than a coach.
Trani would be good. With him knowing the players and such
always seemed like he would be a better number 2 than top dog.
I want experience and someone who has played the type of football the board wants

Hayden Foxe.... just for the match day wardrobe lols
So this shit just got really real.
Gotta say I am already finding hilarious the comments from Hay, Woodcock etc that the Nix need to conduct a "worldwide" search.
Given recent abject failures by other, far better resourced, A-League clubs than ours to do exactly that, we all know it ain't gonna happen.
Every assistant coach in the A-League is updating his CV as we speak.

This. It's either going to be an Aussie, or an existing A Legaue assistant coach.
My vote goes to Miron. Club needs some energy and he seems like the kind of guy to bring that.

I can see it being Merrick. I desperately hope it isn't.

If we are going to recycle A-League coaches, Kossie would be best choice, just ahead of Merrick. But would rather none of them.
So save the effort.... Nelsen when he gets fired from Maple Syrup FC?

Tactically, Miron is just as inept as Ricki is. His press conferences would be good, but no thanks.
Jesus wept, the quality of some of the candidates being seriously discussed here is depressing. I thought we sacked Ricki because we were sick of being shit? Unfortunately it may reflect the reality of our predicament though.
Lee Norfolk!
Currently coaching Leiston FC in Ryman Premier League.
Has EPL experience like Nelsen and Hay so those two will just have to stfu.
You heard it here first.
whats up with the panic. there is time to get a coach. let the dust settle, have a good look around nz and see who is available.

You haven't quite got to grips with the way things work round here yet, have you?
The coach will need time to get some of the players he needs to play the style of football the public are demanding. Good quality play with a result at the end of it.
Keith Moon had energy but I would not have wanted him coaching the Nix
*applause*
Look around NZ bloody hope they do a bit more than that. Not overly confident about them doing the right thing the number of foot in the mouth moments this season show they dont seem to realise running a football club is a very different beast than what they are used to.
Hope they take on board some decent advisors but the problem they have is there are that many in NZ who have their own bloody agendas
I really worry what we may end up with and more importantly if they will be appointed in time to really do something about the squad.
actually think this is the right time to get a foreign coach.
no local standouts for me. we want someone who has coached a fluid passing team and believes in that type of style.

As you and most others are aware that just aint going to happen there have been many with a lot more money than them who havnt be able to do it.They also want to do this while not really spending on the playing group but rely on youth development which is going to take according to them 3/5 years.I really worry about just what direction we will be taking as im sure a new coach will want something concrete and not just pie in the sky statements.Or is the new coach going to be on the cheap and a 3/5 year plan as well.(God i miss those smilies)
Brendan Telfer/Gareth Morgan co-coaching! I would pay to watch that reality show, though it would screw the club.
Got depressed by this in the Worthington article:
Given Herbert is set to stay at the club in some capacity, Neil Emblen leaps out as an obvious candidate.

It could lose less money than it does now by being more successful and it's culture being obvious on and off the field as it was thinking back to the first season- Daniel, Felipe, Tim Brown, Smeltz. Loyalty (ok Smeltzy, but still) which is a good concept for making money, solid effort, class and flair.

Marquee coach please.
