And I add only as matter of protocol that Ferguson is nowhere near that level of competence. He is a young coach by football standards - he learned the ropes with Lawrie McKinna but his success at NQ Fury was muted at best. At Perth Glory he probably inherited a good squad initially but seems to have lost the players in the end. And before we start a new conversation, I think Kosmina would be just too divisive and antagonistic - he always seems one tense stare away from a sudden punch up. In my 30 years of observing him (even as a player) he's never been able to relax and unwind.

Completely agree with this. Kosmina has a lot more tactical nous than he's given credit for but is essentially insane. Ferguson's overall record is extremely uneven, his brand of football is barely more exciting than Ricki's, and personally I loathe that kind of snarling aggression he imposes on his players (ok, obviously Burns, Heffernan, etc don't need much encouragement). I guess many would gladly accept success at any price but I wouldn't be happy watching the Nix hacking, elbowing and whining its way through a season, accompanied by endless close ups of Ferguson on the sideline launching f-bombs at all and sundry.

Ferguson coaches like he played.
