I wonder if we have been sold down the river by the owners over this recruitment process? When it started and the central coast assistant put up his hand, I thought ok, goes with the territory, likely low cost, available, fits the owners needs. We then hear about all these other amazing candidates, household football names,  premiership experience etc and low and behold they don't even make e final two? It seems a process which was predetermined from the beginning based upon cost.

A lot of factors could've influenced the likes of Coppell dropping out of the running - not really fair to speculate like that without knowing any details. To me, it seems like the club has gone about this in a surprisingly professional way.
That to a degree is my point. It appears professional because we have looked world wide, apparently had premiership coaches applying, flew there to interview them and it appears we may end up with an assistant a league coach. It's a bit like scouting the world for a new striker, having a couple of former premiership srikers household names apply and then end up with the low cost option, totorri.

But what if they simply came to the conclusion he's a better fit for the club? It's still better that they did the search and went down all possible avenues. Recognisable doesn't always mean better.
I have a feeling that Coppell probably voluntarily dropped out for different reasons, though.
