It is not on the Sky that I pay for now, so I wont be watching

If it was I would. I'm not saying it should be. I dont "want" something for nothing, its a meh

Ring up Ticketek. I did and was told that my details showed that I was to pick them up at the venue [which was at the game or any Ticketek outlet as it happened]. Then a few days later they were posted out to me. don't know what happened but think it will pay to ring and see what the go is.

Also good twisting Jeff when there are in fact more tickets unsold than sold for the 4 games overall.

"Almost a sell out" with 12,000 tickets left for Wellington is pushing it a little too.

I will be there, I just think the ticket prices and PPV prices are a little high. I predict fairly poor crowds in Auckland and Dunedin. Wellington might get to sell out point, helped by having all 4 teams there on the same day.

If you have wee bairns and the weather is fine then the zoo is good. If it is wet & cold then Te Papa. City & Sea museum and City Art Gallery also nearby.

Island Bay has a marine education centre.

Wind turbines at Makara.

Weta workshop shop in Miramar.

Zelandia is supposed to be quite good now.

CARLSBERG JOINS FOOTBALL UNITED TOUR

A special one-day ticket deal is being offered to Auckland football fans this Friday to celebrate the announcement of the Football United Tour’s principal partner, international beer giant, Carlsberg.

Football United Tour host, Wellington Phoenix said the deal is on a strictly limited number of tickets for the West Ham United v Wellington Phoenix match at Eden Park on Wednesday July 23.

“Carlsberg is one of the world’s great beer brands and is synonymous with football so we are delighted that we’ve secured Carlsberg’s partnership for the tour,” Wellington Phoenix General manager, David Dome said.

On this Friday, 1,000 tickets only will be sold for $25 (plus booking fee) and will be made available through GrabOne.

Dome said that Carlsberg’s extremely generous offer to subsidise tickets to the Auckland match is indicative of their commitment to the Tour and their desire for as many New Zealanders to be part of the unique sporting event.

“$25 to see an English Premier League side is outstanding value and is a fraction of the cost you would pay to see West Ham play in London,” Dome said.

“We are thrilled that not only will Carlsberg be the principal partner of the Football United Tour, but also that Carlsberg will be available for purchase at every game in the Tour.

“This is the first time Carlsberg has been available for purchase at a football match in New Zealand.”

Carlsberg has a rich history with football and is the current official beer partner of the English Premier League, national teams of England, Denmark and Switzerland, club sponsors of Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Toronto FC and sponsors of the UEFA Cup and Super Cup.

Carlsberg New Zealand’s Ben Shaw said they are delighted to be bringing world class football to New Zealand.

“Carlsberg sponsors some of the very best in football all around the world and the visit of two quality English Premier League sides in West Ham and Newcastle United is a fantastic opportunity for New Zealand and we wanted to be a part of it,” Shaw said

Dome said the Club was delighted it could meet fans’ demand for alternative beer options on game day and that Carlsberg was joining in the festival spirit by subsidising tickets to the Auckland match.

“This is an amazing offer courtesy of Carlsberg and demonstrates their commitment to football in general, and the Football United Tour in particular.

“That certainly calls for a Carlsberg!”

This is a wasted marketing opportunity; everyone that buys a $25 ticket should get a dozen free bottles of Carlsberg. Let's face it, most people drink Heineken and Carlsberg should be doing more to get people to drink their own brew. Its also not fair that I actually bought a bottle of carlsberg in Wellington about a year ago and now if i go to Auckland, they expect me to PAY if I order one there.... These people are muppets.....

Not when they realise that they will pay for them at the match and also at home when watching the other games.

I suppose the alternative is a dodgy home brew and a dodgy live stream.

Carlsberg is not meeting a demand for alternative beer options, it is providing more of exactly the same. A cheaply made, corny, grainy, apple flavoured, watery lager. Yuck. If I'm going to pay close to  $10 for a beer something with some hops in it, that doesn't taste of urine would be an alternative option. Although to be fair it is better than Heineken or Tui.

Got my ticket last night for the Eden Park game (not in the fever zone), so the $25 tickets are mildly annoying...

Mind you Kiwi's have never mastered the art of making an ale, they love their sugary IPA's. Back home IPA's are drier and actually don't taste like sugar water.  Commerical beers over are the same crap you buy in the supermarket as well as "on tap" Even the dark beers are just weird and hangover-inducing even after a couple.

Sadly I don't think this will ever change.

Boundary Road will also be available at all three venues for Football United, which is apparently a shitload better than Carlsberg.

Boundary Road is somewhere in between mainstream rubbish, and actual good craft beer.

This is not really what fans have been asking for, BUT it's an improvement on Tui / Speights / Carlsberg at least.

Next they'll be getting Crafty Beggars in and trying to tell us that's craft beer...
