it still amazes me that Harnwell was dropped from the squad the first time Perth came to the ring of fire

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

I hope with one man down Perth will get too tired during the last quarter and anyone but J Griffiths score the winner

Don't we hope that Noocastle win by about 9, so we will not be bottom even if we lose 1-0?

Yes, let Griffiths get as many as he can to help the goal difference. Currently we are -10,   they are -6 , so a win by 5 or more will help

Given the speculation, I've been trying to get a read on Andrew Durante, but he hasn't really stood out.  Any thoughts?

A vicious rumour I hope. Does anyone know what the approx. range of wages are in a 'typical' A-league side?

A vicious rumour I hope.

I don't think so.  More like an over-inflated opinion of his own value.

Can't help but feel sorry for the Glory... supporting a team that is also on the bottom, I can understand how the fans would've wanted a better result for their last game. Still, losing by a goal with only 10 men for 50 odd minutes isn't too bad.

Yay.

Now we just need Joel Griffiths to die in a plane crash after that post match interview.

Haha think of the irony if he did actually die in a plane crash. Good times.

Next season I'd love to see us and Perth fighting it out in the top 2 positions and show those other teams up!
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

I just saw a replay of Nick Rizzo's red card offence. Did not warrant a sending off I'm afraid. I think the tussle afterwards just caused a rush of blood to Mike Hester's head in all honesty.

If the referee decided it was red card offence then it was a red card offence.

I thought it was a fair call, on another day another ref might have given a yellow but I had no gripes with Mike's decision.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

there's no shortage of decisions this season that have been debatable (and we've been on the wrong end of more than our share)

it was similar to the one that saw Aloisi go off v sydney

so yep, I'll not grizzle about that one

Spot on, tigers. Now that you mention it......

you can guarantee with our defence that we won't be playing for a nil all draw tonight. Score early then pressurize them.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

they'll almost certainly be needing goals for their goal diff if they are to have a chance of top two spots

so hit em on the break !!

"Aloisi wins it, edge of the box , angled ball to Ferrante, he sweeps it up to Daniel, the Brazilian cuts in inside, slides it through to Smeltz -- OH YESS!!"

"Superb fluency from the Phoneix; defence to attack at a pace the Mariners just couldn't live with and a thoroughly deserved 1-nil lead."

It was 100% the wrong call. Not even debatable. The fact that he had his yellow out before the tussle reaks of getting caught up in the atmosphere.

As a referee, with 10 years experience, I'll be very interested to hear how your encyclopaedic knowledge of the Laws of the Game allows you the insight to categorically state that it was 100% the wrong call. Seriously, please explain why there is no debate that the red card was wrong.

As I said, on another day in another game, the card could well have been a different colour but I don't have any problem with the decision.

Still, what do I know....

Oh, and before anybody goes down that road, I'm hardly the guardian angel of referees. Far from it, as anyone who knows me will confirm.
