Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

They will he said home and away. The team that finishes 1st or 2nd chooses when they play at home.

We get a home game in the first round no matter where we finish (granted we make the top 4 obviously)

If we finish 1st or 2nd,we get a home semi (as such) if we lose the first playoff game...but of course we would prefer to win and make the final...do we get a home final or is there a pre-determined venue for it??

If we finish 3rd or 4th,we will play away from home in the semi if we win the first round playoff

EDIT: to avoid confusion my terms are

first round playoff - 1st round
semifinal - 2nd round
final - obviously 3rd round

I doubt we will ever host a final although we do have the 4th biggest stadium.

There's not a pre-determined venue, but if we were to get in first/second and win the semi, it could get interesting as to where the final will be.

If they take us as seriously as they claim to,it would surely have to be here.

Interesting for sure.

Last season they didn't give it to CCM because of stadium size. IIRC, the quoted stadium size was marginally larger than Westpac.

It ended up in Sydney then. I would expect that it'd be there or Melbourne regardless.yomcat2009-01-08 15:04:37

OK... can someone do the math... Whats the chances of The Nix making 4th play off spot?

We're planning to go away and would hate to miss a home play off!

If Adelaide finished top it would go to the Adelaide Oval right?

It'd be at AAMI Stadium, I'd imagine. They said ~40K minimum to host a final, IIRC Adelaide Oval is ~30K.

We could probably boost Westpac up to 40k with those spare seats they sometimes use right?

Yea, Adelaide Oval is 32-34K. About the same size as Westpac.

I believe they did it for the lions tour? Though dont think it quite reached 40k...

Westpac Stadium is currently the biggest ground in the country, now that half of Eden and Lancaster Parks have been torn down for new stands.

Did Eden lose 12,000 seats?

I don't think there were any rules that said the Mariners had to move, they just chose to because it would make them more $$.

Maybe it was just Midfielder that wasn't too happy about it then. I couldn't find any YF news about it, so that leaves him as the only sauce...

in the 2011 RWC they will boost the stadiums size to 39,00 with extra seating, etc so that will probably be enought to host a final.

Haha way to think ahead. Doesnt quite help us this season.

Id imagine we would still be able to host the final here in wellington if it is in NZ
