I had no idea he was the one who effectively got the ball rolling on the Phoenix rescue! Even more gutted for his loss.
Must have a banner.

A time also to remember all those who have suffered leukemia and not done as much as he has to be known outside of their respective family circles.
A cruel disease that has no respect for young or old, rich or poor.

A statement from Wellington Phoenix Football Club said Morrison played a major role in bringing together members of the consortium.

"It didn't matter what Lloyd did, he always gave of his best", said his brother Rob Morrison, who is also a consortium member.

"Once he got involved in the Phoenix he became very passionate about the club." That passion was epitomised by the Phoenix shirt hanging on the wall in his Seattle hospital room.

are we doing a minutes applause ??????????????????

I just feel a minutes "silence" doesn't really show the respect he deserves

imo.

Makes sense.

Pathetic. Not apathetic.

cool, but people have to know about it.

Other wise everyone will be like... "why are they clapping for so long"

you know what I mean ?

What can we do ?

get it on the big screen somehow ?

Yeah, ferocious clapping in honor of his memory immediately after the silence until out hands are too sore to continue.
Odds are we'll be too sucked into the game to notice the 54th minute tick by.

"In finishing there is a man that couldn't be more opposite to the above mentioned, that is Lloyd Morrison who sadly passed away on Friday. Lloyd was the most inspirational man I have ever met and will be sorely missed.

New Zealand has much to thank of Lloyd in business and sport - he played a major role in helping the Phoenix still be with us today.

He was such a positive influence in so many lives and I'm sure there will be many amazing stories for years to come of his kindness, brilliance, energy and all round great example of what we should aspire to be. Rest in Peace Lloyd."

The Capital times says there is a funeral service for Lloyd at the Town Hall tomorrow.  No time mentioned.  Anyone from here going to represent YF?

The club contacted me to organise copies of the photo that I posted in the Flags and Banners thread of the 'RIP LLOYD' banner above the Fever Zone to be presented to members of the family (I think that was the intention) at the funeral.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.
