Thanks, but today's faffing around at the first goal proved its the right time.

You don't mean the tap in where he was 2 on 1 do you? :/

Yes, he slipped but could hardly stop that from going in!

That goal was incredibly similar to goals that many keepers around the league have conceded against the Victory. Winger pushes past the defence, curls the ball into the middle and Archie/Rojas finish off. Hardly Paston's fault, would have been a goal even if he didn't slip.

Also, how is it Paston's fault that he slipped Steve-O? I'm fairly sure he didn't do it on purpose, and plenty of players slip over in football matches.

There was a lot of slipping over in that match, not just Paston. He was well beaten even if he had kept his footing, through the fault of our defence.

I never understand why keepers move out of the goal when in those situations, I can understand moving up to try and cut out the pass, but surely not leaving an open goal for the tap in makes more sense?

To try and cut down the cross, rather than the easy tap in I'd say. Odds of success on stopping the tap in in that situation aren't great, you have a better shot at cutting out the pass. Besides if you just leave the man with the ball alone, you give him just as much space and time to either knock it in the net or make the pass.
