The referee was sh*te, Elrich was sh*te, Seo and Reinaldo deserve cancer, Daniel should have come on earlier, Felipe never should have been substituted, Yellow Fever was mint.

We conceeded an early goal again, though..

I thought the ref was a bit shaky to begin with, but he improved as the game went on.  Good to see that he started ignoring all of their dives in the second half, Elrich still fooled him a couple of times though.

last week I came to the conclusion that Smeltz was good at 'snap shots', but give him thinking time on the ball he would miss - I now take that back. His finishing for the nix goal was superb; slotted the ball diagonally between the defender and the gk straight in to the roof of the net. Class.

Can't wait for the replay on sky at midday tomorrow ...

Midday huh? I start work at 1:30. Oh well, should see most of it! A brilliant header one week and a brilliant shot this week. Too much Shane!!

lol. The crowd sounded great. I noticed that Seo was very quick to get rid of the ball even when he had loads of time! Until last nights match I didnt realise how much Robbie Kruse did actually dive, FFS stay on your feet!

I'm intrigued how you can call that a shyte performance from the referee. He didn't have anything controversial to deal with or made a decision that was controversial (I think the penalty shout hit his head on the replay) Thats the best performance the Phoenix have had from him cause the other 2 were shyte

We took our chances and missed a couple. Queensland took theres and really didn't test Mossy too much. I think this was a game were we dropped points due to our poor finishing...

Didn't see the game. Ricki said on the radio we should have had a penalty for hand ball.Anyone seen that incident on the box?

yea definate penalty ... good result for the Nix although we could've and should've won it, maybe if Smeltz had the one-on-one, we might be celebrating a 2-1 win . bit pissed off with Steven Old and his passes and lack of defense, mostly every pass went astray and killed any moves , gave away possession too much and was much too slow.  Nice result though against the scum

Did anyone else see Felipe get knocked over from someone flying in after the ref gave offside? Think it was Moore. f**king pathetic.

Which handball? The one where the Roar player bounced it like a basketball and the ref tried NOT to see it or the one where the Roar player gave it an upper cut as the ball crossed in front of the goal that not too many saw. BUT I did! Then there should have been the direct free kick when the goalie out of his area also basketball bounced it.

Moore is a canny/nasty bastard great to see him subbed off

Kruse was crap. He looked like he couldn't handle the crowd or something. Seo was just as bad.

Just shows how much a crowd can affect players....several of the Roar were obviously rattled by the stick the crowd gave them. Especially Seo...by the second half he dropped his bundle everytime he got the ball......well done lads and Ladessess'

Had a chat with Kruse after the match and he said he wasn't happy with how he played. 

Did he have a really high voice?

Didn't notice it tbh. He seemed like a good guy I thought. I wanted to bring up Seo and Marcinho's dive but thought better of it.

I hate Seo he's a dirty cheat but it seemed we got to him pretty well with the booing.

Just got back home from a superb weekend in Wellington

Man the atmosphere at the game was amazing, unreal tbh. It sounds loud on tv but boy it was loud in there.

The guys in the fever zone are legends, the singing and chants we're great; loved the
"all we want is a decent referee" and the continuous booing of Seo. It definitely put him off his game.



You Wellingtonians are so lucky, i am actually a bit depressed i won't be able to say the games live next year as at canty uni. I hope there's a decent supporters group in CHCH.

The game wasn't the greatest but Smeltzys goal was awesome, such an acute angle.

Queensland were so sh*t it was unbelivable

Lochead, Smeltz, Felipe and Lia had good games, if only Covs had a better shot when Smeltz put him in space.

What an amazing debut season, although depressing at times, so much has been achieved. Football has been transformed in NZ this year and long may it continue!

The "all we want is a decent referee" chant was superb. And timely. Nobody deserves that chant more than Ben Williams for his performances refereeing the Phoenix this season. I can't believe the FFA still allow him to referee Phoenix games after some of his dubious performances this year. Almost single-handedly responsible for the Phoenix being called "unlucky" this season, as far as external influences go.

hahaha i just read some of there board it hurts my eyes.. .. they even go so far as to name moss in a thread about worst 11 in the a-league, and 1 moron said he is worse than all in keepers in the league including Velaphi... give me strength, hes at least top 3..

You forget, they think calamity Liam Reddy is a quality keeper.  Proves the level they operate at.
