More likely to sign Hard News.
Yeah I guess with Mully gone they need someone of his quality. Robbie's probably a step up.

Think they prefer players that don't talk about themselves in the third person.

Less mental.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Her surname is Hogan. Think Dura is Hogan's Hero?

Good re signing....Siggy was right back wasnt he so he still gets to do battle with Troy.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Siggy is a very average right back.

He'd have a better chance of forcing McKain into midfield and Manny going to RB, but, no thanks.

Slightly mixed feelings. It threatens to leave Siggy on the sideline at a very important point in his career, since if McKain is fit and not making ridiculous mistakes Siggy wont get a look in. Great for the club to have three high quality CBs but I can't help wanting to see more NZers in the team.

Get better then Siggy if you want to make it in.

I like Siggy, but to be honest I dont care where the players come from.  Winning is what matters to me.  It may make Siggy a better player.

Siggy may end up sitting quite a bit out. It has been fortunate over the past two seasons that when a centre back was injured or suspended a quality one has been there to step in.
I think we've learned that McKain should not be in the middle unless desperate and that Manny is better where he is as well and he covers R and LB

I've learned that Manny should never grace the fullback position again.

That's an area we definitely need to strengthen.

Awesome news, McKain is the business.

Siggy back to the NZFC in the reserve team maybe?

Ha, don't forget that prior to Punchgate Siggy was being regularly picked ahead of McKain.

Same could quite easily happen again.

Good signing.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

As much as we love Siggy, McKain is quite a bit better. But it's a good problem to have.

Wasn't McKain injured until about 4 weeks prior to Punchgate. He came off the bench a few times then "that punch" and McKain slotted in, played well and Siggy was on the outer?

Its no longer a problem.

Exactly - so it shows an injury to McKain or Durante will give Siggy his chance to get back into the side. Then if he plays well and doesn't get punchy , he may make it hard for Ricki to remove him.

McCains re-signing just shows how much having a succesful club impacts on player recruitment. Players want to win trophies. They want to be at top clubs. If we had stuggled to make 6th and then been knocked out in the first  round of the finals then MCain would have gone.

This will also have a knock on effect when Tony P goes out in the market for players. Come play at the Nix...the 3rd best team in the A-League!!! Sounds a whole lot better than at the end of the last season...come play at the Nix..we just avoided the wooden spoon.

Also its significant that team bonding has had a big part of this. All the players comment on the closeness of the squad. Greenacre and ifill both said its the tighest squad they have ever seen in all there years of playing.

I am sure that Durante had a word in MCains ear about the way some other A-League clubs are run...the nix are a very well run club, well funded, well organised very professional. You cannot say that about every other club.

I'm sure the fact that he got into an Aussie squad while playing for us, rather than being overlooked cos he's playing in NZ (sort of), helped as well. Jag2010-03-19 16:28:10

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Manny is easily a better fullback than midfielder. imo.
