Hoofball clearances and blatent passing/giving the ball away to opposition players by any of our team hurts us. I cant believe the amount of bad passing. Or should I say passing choices.
Hoofball was ian Holloways favourite tactic along with Adey Boothroyd. It should be banned.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

I honestly don't think Brown has been playing as bad as it is suggested in these forums. IMO he beats Ferrente any day. Although it is confusing as to what you all want. You say drop Ferrente, drop Diego, drop Brown. Yet you don't say who should replace them.
Having Hearfield and Daniel wouldn't work - no one except McKain would drop back. IMO you have to have atleast one of Diego, Ferrente or Brown.

I think Brown is unfortunate as him and Mckain are a bad midfield combination and gives us nothing going forward (two DMs).
Dropping Mckain into defence and Brown being the sole DM would solve this. Then it would open up a spot for one of our many many attacking midfielders to play, instead of being slotted into the wing 80 minutes into the game.
Mckain central defence, brown - defensive mid, Hearfield/Diego/Daniel/costa/caceres/whoever else - attacking mid

It's frustrating that we're four games into the season, we've got more mids than you can poke a stick at, yet we're still where we were last season, ie, farting about trying to come up with the best midfield combination.
This stuff should've been sorted by Ricki. Those two weird subs were to me confirmation that he is a long long way from a solution, so we should get ready for more pain and suffering.
