I've read about Jennings, but not his book - be great if someone can summarise the points.
Yeah, it'd be good to know more. All we seem to read is vacuous slurs without substance and the conspiracy nuts seem to get in the way of proper discussion, which would be the perfect cover for anything genuinely dodgy! I'm not specifically meaning this thread BTW.

You've got me curious... stuff you know but can't write? Because YF might get sued? Or because you'd have to change your name?

My lawyer would tell me it's fine and they could never prove it, but as he was the primary cause of me losing it twice while trying to do ground announcing yesterday I'm going to ignore his view.

I suspect Jennings is on the right track with much of what he exposes but quite possibly sensationalises it.  It's worth a read.  Probably better for those who won't just take it as the gospel truth and won't build their belief in football as though it was the whole story.

There are interviews with Jennings here http://soccerlens.com/interview-with-andrew-jennings/13451/ both audio and transcripts. As the page says Jennings founded http://www.transparencyinsport.org/

bin Hammam is a sack of shet. He doesnt like this part of the world, he thinks he owns football, What gives him the right to call the shots when his country cant even qualify for WC. Not sure why FFA has to seek approval from AF for a ten year licence. Corruption is first cousin to politics!!!

Just go and pick the book up, it's an eye opener alright and a little saddening.

so had "his" country qualified he could of called the shots?

modern football is inherently  corrupt, much akin to the economic system it inhabits. And many of the pleasures of modern football we all seem to enjoy are virtually inconceivable without the financial attention of the big corporates.

so rallying for a cleaner game seemingly requires a cleaner way of doing business. What is the likelihood of this?

It seems like the easiest solution is to join Australia.  NZFC can become a state championship, John Key can be state premier, and the Phoenix can be Champions of Asia.

Bonus: Rugby Union keels over due to the lack of any challenges for the "All Wallabies".
