Tim Brown is doing quite well getting into attacking positions lately, if he can start to time his runs a bit better he could be a force coming through the midfield with his late runs.  That (along with Hearfield's game pre-card) were nice positives for me from that match.

Yes I noticed that Nickel he looked like a box-to-box midfielder such as Lampard.

How can we give MOM to Hearfield when his lack of self-control has cost us the game just as we looked to start being dominant?
 
Even Ricky said so much in his interview.

i think the vote is in recognition of the fact that he spent a good 60 minutes trying to win us the game...a quality we've been lacking this season.

Hearfield was the best player on the park before he had a brain explosion. No other player stood out so it's semi understandable.

I am voting for Hearfield, played above his usual contribution, which is how I judge this, gave Brosque a bloody good elbow when he needed it, and although he "lost it" when he got the verbals from Brosque, he never backed down an inch all day.

None of the others stood out

Well, how can you compare Stevie G and Lampard?! To compare Brown to Gerrard is a bit crazy, and to compare him to Lampard is a bit harsh on the lad!

I obviously didn't mean their skill level was the same as Lampard would so far ahead of the other two it wouldn't be fair on Brown. I meant their role in the team was the same, as in they are box-to-box midfielders.

Bingo.

Durante was brilliant until he had to come off. Nobody else featured really.

Smeltz, Leo, McKain, Brown and Muscat were all quiet.

Ferrante was nowhere, what exactly does that guy do apart from hover around the middle of the pitch? And Lochead had the most woeful game i've seen him play for the nix, terrible passing, losing possession, playing way out of position. Daniel looked like he was hungover.

Well it certainly didn't help did it? More than any other single act, it had the most significant effect on our chances of winning the match. And if you believe the argument that up to that point Troy was out best player, then what he actually did was take off out best player! That's about as close to losing us the game, or costing us the chance to win the game, as anyone can get without scoring blatant own goals!

I'd agree Jag. I haven't voted for Troy, as I didn't think he was our MoM - particularly given what he did. However, I was trying to talk sensibly to mayze88 with an example he could relate to.
 
One of the big problems with losing Dura, for me, was that it took McKain out of the midfield.
