When would we be changing? Drupal is doing my head in.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Slow uni wifi mixed with slow Yellow Fever forum = Patrick failing at technology.

I don't know shit about shit but is it not possible to go back to the old forum software but with the new design over the top?

Or was the spamming of the old forum just getting out of control?

I still haven't found a good flirty prom dress, a nice pair of ugg boots or a good worming drench for my (pretend) dog.

Looks even more unlikely with this vanill drupal site.

The old forum was exactly that, old. Going to something new and improved means new features can be added easily, which was not possible at all with the old one. A new one will also be a lot more stable and easier to maintain.

Vanilla Forums looks decent enough, and being open source, things can be added as plug-ins later on.

The current features look good IMO.

On the other hand,if it ain't broke don't fix it?

I can see a point for a new forum if there are new features, but this one seems to have less if anything.

Am sure that'll change once things are more stable though, otherwise what was the point!

This had the same we've just switched some of it off and are scared to turn it back on because it's killing us.

Suspect what we'll do is take the styles and content from here to Vanilla within the next month, providing it behaves as we want/expect.

Yellow Fever goes Vanilla.

Currently suffering from too much Drupal.

A month?

I'm not sure we'll all still be here in a month!

I vote for as soon as possible.

But then I don't know shit about shit so...

This is like a interim manager at an EPL club.

Good analogy.

This is the Steve Kean of forums.

The lesser known brother of Mike Hunt.

So we're going down?

Would be ideal to have it happened asap, should be a lot easier to migrate stuff from drupal to vanilla..

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Permalink Permalink

I don't think it's the migration that's the problem, it's that out of the box Vanilla is, well, vanilla. All the little things like Post Counts, Signatures and being able to quote other users have to be added to the forum manually, not to mention the design stage.

Managed to finally log in to the site. Obviously you want to use yellow for identity reasons but it looks pretty awful in terms of readability. The smileys are also mainly yellow.

Finally, a white site would be much better for the secret-browse-at-work crew.

Hopefully once we have vanillad we'll have a working RSS feed for furticve use (currently it skips first post in threads)>

Once we Vanilla-ize the site, you would proably be able to use the mobile version to be secret :)

Considering your Words with Friends on the toilet sessions, I'm not sure that choc-top would be good (besides haven't we already got a dirty Sanchez?).

Nope, it integrates with the Drupal login so we will be logging in the exact same way as currently.
